The Polytechnic University of is a Spanish university located in Valencia, with a focus on science and technology. It was founded in 1968 as the Higher Polytechnic School of Valencia and became a university in 1971, but some of its schools are more than 100 years old.

Prof. Valery Naranjo

Dr. Valery Naranjo is professor of the Departamento de Comunicaciones from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The CVBLab research group, belonging to the Instituto de Investigación e Innovación en Bioingeniería (I3B) from the Universitat Politècnica de València, works on signal, image and video processing as well as data analysis and the creation of automatic predictive models.
During the last 20 years, CVBLab has worked in projects focusing on different fields among which diagnostic aid, human behaviour analysis and applications related to the industrial sector stand out. However, the expertise of CVBLab makes possible to apply their techniques to any field in which big data analysis is required with the aim of creating value. The group is coordinated by Dr. Valery Naranjo,and it is composed of computer vision and biomedical engineers, PhD students and three post-doctoral researchers.

Key Research Facility and Equipment

The university has three campuses in Vera, Gandia and Alcoy Vera.

The Vera campus is made up of almost a hundred buildings where teaching and research takes place. The Gandia campus features lecture halls, the south laboratory, coffee shop, north laboratories and administration, main lecture hall and library.

UPV’s Alcoy campus has three buildings – two are historical buildings from the Alcoy Industrial Revolution, and the third houses sport facilities.
