Eleonora Rubini
Eleonora Rubini holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (Developmental Biology) from the University of Aberdeen (2019), during which she researched the roles of key genes underlying the genetic disorder of lipodystrophy. In 2020, she completed a Master degree in Assisted Reproduction Technology from the University of Nottingham, and her thesis focussed on investigating the role of paternal sub-optimal nutrition in implantation, early embryonic and placental development in mice models. From October 2020, she has joined Prof. Dr. Régine Steegers-Theunissen’s research group at the Erasmus MC (Rotterdam, Netherlands) as a PhD Student in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN DohART-NET project.
Research Focus: Investigating the impact of periconceptional maternal obesity and underlying pathways of embryonic, foetal and newborn health, using state-of-the-art imaging techniques, patient questionnaires and blood samples.
